ABA Therapy in New Hope, Minnesota
Head east from New Hope and you'll hit our Golden Valley center in roughly ten minutes; stay put and our in-home team comes to you. Every New Hope family picks exactly one of those settings for their child's ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) program — and the picking is yours, not a rule about where you live.

Not every ABA provider in Minnesota accepts Medical Assistance. We do.
Ability Avenues accepts Straight MA and Blue Plus, and we're enrolled in EIDBI (Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention) — the Minnesota benefit that funds autism therapy for eligible children. Most families we serve pay $0 out of pocket.
Center-based or in-home in New Hope?
New Hope sits on a simple east–west grid, so the trip to the center is a low-drama drive — surface streets through Crystal, or Highway 169 down to Highway 55 if you're on the west side.
That said, some of the strongest in-home programs we run are in New Hope. When the hard moments happen at home — transitions, mealtimes, getting out the door — teaching in the middle of them is exactly the point.
One setting per child is the rule we hold. Choose the center or choose home; if it needs to change later, we change it completely rather than splitting your week in half.
One child, one setting: your child's program runs in the one you choose — and if it stops fitting, you and your BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) can switch, never split.
Getting to our center from New Hope
Two easy ways in: take 42nd Avenue east across Crystal to Highway 100 and ride one exit south, or drop down Highway 169 to Highway 55 east, which meets Highway 100 beside the center. Either route lands around ten minutes.
Parents tell us the trip pairs well with school hours at District 281 buildings — sessions can bracket the school day without a scramble.

Do you serve all of New Hope?
Every New Hope address, yes. In-home therapists work the whole city — the neighborhoods around Northwood Park, the blocks along Winnetka Avenue, and the townhomes near the Crystal border all schedule the same way.
And all of those same addresses are welcome at the Golden Valley center. Coverage here isn't split into zones; both settings reach all of New Hope, and you choose between them.
Ability Avenues supports families whose children attend Robbinsdale Area Schools (District 281) in New Hope and can coordinate with your child's IEP (Individualized Education Program) team.
New Hope questions, answered
The things New Hope families ask us most — coverage, the drive, and how starting actually works.
What's the best route from New Hope to the center?
Most families take 42nd Avenue east to Highway 100 south, or Highway 169 south to Highway 55 east — both put you at 1415 Lilac Dr N in about ten minutes. The maps link on this page gives turn-by-turn from your own street.
Is in-home ABA in New Hope as intensive as the center?
Yes. Same assessment, same BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) oversight, same session hours — the difference is the address, not the program. For many New Hope children, home is where the target skills matter most anyway.
Can we try both settings and keep whichever we like?
You can switch, but not sample side by side: your child's program runs in one setting at a time. If the first choice isn't working after a real trial, you and your BCBA move the whole program to the other.
Do New Hope families use EIDBI for this?
Most do. EIDBI (Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention) is Minnesota's benefit for intensive autism therapy, and we accept Straight MA and Blue Plus. If you're not sure what your child has, we'll help you check on the first call.
